4D Ultrasound Pictures

Most women are familiar with the term ultrasound, especially women who are pregnant or have children. This is the procedure that doctors use to view images of the unborn child as it lays in the womb of the mother. These procedures are often used to make sure that proper development is taking place. The regular ultrasound produces images that are 2 dimensional in nature. There are other types of ultrasounds that can be performed that will produce more enhanced images of your child. These 4D ultrasound pictures allow you to view in great detail what is going on inside the uterus.

Rather than the fuzzy and flat images that are produced by a 2 dimensional ultrasound, 4D ultrasound pictures are much easier to make out, especially by people who are untrained in reading ultrasounds. Many professionals also confess that these pictures are easier for them to read. Occasionally these more sophisticated ultrasounds are used to confirm the presence of problems that are suspected by viewing the standard ultrasound images. These types of ultrasounds re usually done at 5 weeks gestation, this is because the features have formed enough that their definition is able to be picked up by the ultrasound technology.

One of the great things about 4D ultrasound pictures is that they do not require a doctor's order to be performed. These types of ultrasounds are usually done in private clinics that specialize in these types of images. They usually take about 20 to 30 minutes and are done in a private area. The ultrasound tech will apply a gel to the abdominal area. This may be a bit uncomfortable at first, but it aids in the production of a clear picture when it is. Once this is done, the ultrasound tech will then take a handheld device called a transducer and place it on the abdomen. This device transmits sound waves into the uterus. It also receives the sound waves that bounce of the inside of the abdomen. These sound waves are then deciphered by the machine and an image is shown.

This is a really great way to see your baby up close and personal before he or she is born. Many of these places will take 4D ultrasound pictures or video for you to have. These are great for sharing with family and friends. The videos will cost a bit more but they are worth it in the long run. They over time they are often considered valuable family heirlooms that can be past to the child once they are an adult.

If you haven't considered a 4D ultrasound before now then surely you will have changed your mind. Even though they are not covered by insurance in most cases, they are worth every penny you pay for them. If you check around you might even be able to find a deal. Be sure to look online for clinics that provide this service in your area. You will be glad that you did once you are able to see your baby in such detail.

Ultrasound Pictures and Videos

Your unique relationship with your son or daughter begins before they are born. During gestation, your precious baby begins to develop facial features and other identifying characteristics that will define him or her throughout their childhood. A 3D ultrasound picture or ultrasound video can help you capture the memories of your pregnancy before your baby is born and your chance is gone forever.

About Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create a picture of your unborn child. The sound waves bounce off your baby and are captured on film. These pictures are commonly used by physicians to measure your baby and make sure that he or she is growing appropriately.

Medical Ultrasound versus Keepsake Ultrasounds

You will probably have a medical ultrasound picture at some point during your pregnancy. However, these medical ultrasounds are for diagnostic purposes only, and the ultrasound technicians are not seeking to take pictures of your baby's face, or to take a picture of any other position that you may desire. Instead, they look for specific angles that allow them to measure the baby's head, spine, and other key indicators that provide a measurement of the baby's development. In addition, medical ultrasounds only provide a two dimensional image of your baby, and they do not take videos.

When you schedule a keepsake ultrasound with Before You Were Born Imaging, our trained sonographers will take images of the baby's face, feet, or any other poses that will provide photo or video keepsakes. We know how important it is to capture your baby as he or she is in the womb, and we will make every effort to create a keepsake that will last a lifetime. In addition, we take 3D images and 4D video of your baby instead of the fuzzy two dimensional pictures provided by the medical sonographer.

3D and 4D Ultrasound

Many expecting mothers and fathers are sceptical of keepsake ultrasounds because they don't understand the difference that 3D imaging can make in the clarity and details of the images. Like a 3D movie, three dimensional ultrasound pictures and four dimensional video provides a detailed image that has depth. Our sonographers achieve this effect by bouncing the ultrasound waves at many different angles, then capturing the results. Our 3D ultrasound images and 4D videos use a special ultrasound machine as well as the multi-angle approach to capture a crystal clear, detailed image of your baby. Once you see the difference that 3D ultrasound pictures and 4D ultrasound video can make, you will never again be satisfied with a plain two dimensional image.

Scheduling an Appointment

For the best images, schedule an appointment between your 26th and 33rd weeks of pregnancy. Your baby's facial features and body will be developed enough to show his or her features. If you have twins, schedule your appointment between your 23rd and 27th week. Call today because appointment times fill up fast.

Before You Were Born Imaging offer Adelaide based expectant parents a unique experience 3D & 4D Ultrasounds of their developing baby.
